WBW - The Story of Us

  • Chapter 1: truck/container of genes, survival software vs higher-mind
    • higher mind posseses the skill of reason, imagination and communication. Imagination+communication creates long-term plan together; Imagination+reason creates empathy
  • Chapter 2: Emergence tower of life, and human's variable range on the tower
    • the larger threaten, the larger "giant" human will form
    • selective kindness: a toggle switch to show kindness selectively by target
      • This is NOT higher-mind since higher-mind shows kindness ALL THE TIME
      • 这解释了我之前关于“人类总是真善美的但团体为什么总无疑是邪恶”
    • 我们的primitive mind不能适应当前社会
    • 社会上的一些问题和个人问题比就像分形的关系——也是旧东西不能适应新社会
  • Chapter 3: Motivation, Perception of Realiaty, and Story (narratives)
    • On the one hand: Selective kindness cannot be extended to far-family so large human tribe breaks easily
    • On the other hand: Human behaviors are subject to motivation, perception of reality and narrative
    • Therefore, a good narrative serves like a super glue that glues mass-scale human tribe together
    • A strong narrative shall make human tribe both big and mean. The latter is achieved by de-humanize "other" tribes.
    • Delusion is fog plus the illusion of clarity
  • Superglue of human society:
    • tribal values: what's good/bad, dehumanize the bad
    • A queen bee: a society contains so many small families, but all could be closely linked to a same queen bee
    • identity attachment:
      • Make people identify themselves with a super-glue story
      • human are bad at distinguishing psychological identity with physical body, so when the story (identity) is challenged, they fell physical danger
    • Then, as long as there are enough people believing a story then it becomes true because non-believers are killed or pushed out of the group
  • After all these years, the human world are still playing the power game, just in a much bigger scale
  • Chapter 4 The Value Games

A digital garden, perpetually growing.
